Friedberg Eye Now Offering Pellevé^® RF Wrinkle Reduction Treatment

Friedberg Eye Associates is now offering Pellevé RF Wrinkle Reduction in office treatments.  Pellevé, which is FDA cleared to be safe and effective for the treatment of wrinkles, uses radiofrequency (RF) waves to gently heat deep layers of the skin, encouraging the natural growth of new collagen over time.   

Unlike laser or CO₂ resurfacing, there is no risk to sun exposure following treatment and patients can return to normal activities immediately.  “The Pellevé treatment is a great non-invasive, virtually painless way to revitalize the skin, and can be customized based on the patients’ needs from a full face treatment to targeting smaller areas, such as crow’s feet” stated Andrea Friedberg, MD.  Pellevé treatments typically range from 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the area treated.   

In FDA clinical trials, nearly 90% of patients retained photographic improvement at 6 months following treatment, and 85% of patients reported overall satisfaction in skin’s laxity, smoothness, and brightness. 

How does it work?

The Pellevé system uses radiofrequency technology to gently warm the skin deep beneath the surface, which over time, stimulates the body’s natural production of new collagen. 30, 60, 90 days after treatment your body is still working to naturally grow new collagen. What can I expect?

Pellevé is a comfortable, safe procedure that doesn’t have any downtime. Patients have reported that it feels similar to a relaxing hot stone massage. After the procedure you might have slight redness, which is caused by your skin’s elevated temperatures during treatment and will subside soon afterwards. You will be able to return to your normal day-to-day activities immediately after the procedure.

How long does the treatment take?

Treating the entire face takes anywhere from 15-45 min. If you would like a specific area treated (e.g., the delicate areas around your eyes, forehead, or smile lines) your procedure could be completed in as little as 30 minutes! Because the collagen rebuilding process continues to work days, weeks, even months after your treatment, a series of treatments are required for the best results.

How many treatments are recommended?

3 – 5 treatments are recommended about 4 weeks apart to boost the collagen rebuilding process. For optimal results, work with your provider to develop a treatment plan designed specifically for you.
